Thread #10000... Whoa! :D

I don't think it get attention at all. CArankAdminShadowfury333 has been making cast of ZK for a year right now on twitch (now hitbox) and noone were really watching them there :\ however his casts atracted some players trough Youtube. Same goes for Gameinovator whos ZK name is AUrankLightman. Zero K vids/streams were the least pupular within his audience.
Therefore i doubt that streaming RUrankFirepluk raging at newbs will help much with regard of promoting Zero-K.

you dont get any PR from twitch, it doesnt work like that

nobody would scroll to the bottom of the viewercount list and randomly start watching games

No its because he doesn't cast teams larger than 3v3 and even 3v3 rarely because theres too much going on at once.

Good that there already people trying, i know that it would be hard/take time to work, but did think it was worth a try.

Cast need more work, like Skasi say.
So was think more of just pure stream simple to show the game, was that would be less work, just show the "video capture" of the screen of you playing if someone want to try showing big battles 8 vs 8 or more etc..

Well there's dot wars... I'm sure people could make more of these for 10v10+s if they have too much CPU power.

Maybe not from Twitch, but from http://www.hitbox.tv/
When today's 1v1 tournament started Shadowfury's stream showed up on the fourth row of the frontpage with 21 viewers. At least one person in the stream chat asked "What is this game?", chances are they got there by randomly picking Shadowfury's stream from the list. Anyway the last words I remember from said person were "I finished the tutorial! :D" or such.

=> If we manage to make the stream slightly more popular and, say, double viewer numbers of tournament casts the stream might land on the second row and can be seen by at least some people without them having to scroll!

WOW! That's nice!
But also makes me a bit concerned, since we will get an influx of players when we are obviously not really ready for that. Remember that news spread perpetually - you just have to set them off and if the game is good then it will spread trough internets like a hurricane.
But i suppose a small gain of player base like that is not decisive on making a public opinion of ZK?

Since the TeamLiquid Zero-K thread was bumped today it got around 300 additional views.

Not sure what % of those 300 also clicked on the stream link in the post, but it is likely they contributed quite significantly to the viewercount. It has happened in the past in a very similar manner when the TL thread got bumped with the tournament stream link. Hardly surprising as well, there are lots of RTS-liking people browsing those forums.

It is quite likely that quite a few viewers also checked the stream out simply by browsing channels on Hitbox, but something probably needs to bump the stream viewercount up first to make it more visible.

Oh perhaps it wasn't a click from a regular hitbox user then. Or maybe it was, hard to say. Whatever the case, I think the stream may have a pretty high chance of growing if it's just visible enough. Especially considering most of the top streams are currently all the same one or two games streamed over and over. People might get curious if they see something new there.

Oh, crap. I forgot that I have a TL.net page that lists my stream, but that it is also listing the Twitch.tv link, and probably not updated for Zero-K.

(returns from checking) I was right, but I've updated it to show that ZK is my main game now (since I haven't done Achron in a while, and Skullgirls is fast becoming my secondary), and I've applied to change the channel to my hitbox one, which should be rubber-stamped in a day or two.
