i mean, i guess the average rating was close enough for everyone. this is just an example of the balancer working correctly, but failing to accurately judge the skill-level of the participants.

New players start with too much whr. Recently had games where a new guy had more whr than more experienced players, and the new guy did 99% less good than the lesser whr guys.

It is so by design in most rating systems because the start rating is the average rating.

i just wanted to note this because it shows the general problems of balancing team-games and there was a discussion about the balancing-algorithm somewhere. i don`t think this can be solved. we just have to live with it.

If the number of games they have played is less than X, artificially decrease their elo by Z.

I suppose we could just find the average newbie rating and set that as fake rating.

Edit: Nvm, that's pointless since the average elo on the first day is the prior(1500). The median is 1485, which is also not that far off. I suppose the distribution might be rather uneven though.
