Why does a player who received spawn in the corner of the map have a positional advantage over a player who spawn in the middle between several players relative to the singularity?

Why did need nerf singularity?

I could not expand economically, absolutely every player shot at my singu
I needed to spam Funnewebs, this is madness

You went for the center at the start of the game. I'd call that a guaranteed loss. Only take the center when you have enough units to fight everyone, because it's a strategically advantageous position.

If I start on the sides I always try to take on one of the corner players, that way you get your second spot and a more secure base. Unfortunately nobody did that to me this game, so I didn't get any reclaim :(

I spent resources on funeweb spam to protect my singularity, that's all I did in this game.

Not sure USrankUltraGodzilla gets FFA dynamics :D

Going all-in against an experienced FFAer at the start just means they're going to tell everyone what you did and someone else will swoop in afterwards to take their remains (and possibly kill you as well).

Also, don't resign in FFA until you've lost your last con, there have been waaaayyy too many victories from players who bounced back from losing everything but a single constructor :D

For the same reason that the player who starts as Russia on Europe usually wins: some maps are not just that well thought out.

Especially if they are simply ported from another game without much thought given to how those games are different.

"I was building a simbaes and it costed too much to build simbaes. Pls buff simbaes".

Last time this topic was raised, the lesson was that he understands them but ignores them because he "plays for fun".

Therefore if you play FFA with UG you have to account for that assymmetry of wills.

Let's be real, Hunters wasn't that well thought out in Starcraft either in terms of positional balance.

GBrankdyth68 props for actually sitting through a FFA replay. Yes I got too focused on izilob.

I thought RUrankrewdrfe2 was actively fighting Jasper, instead it seemed he was quite happy with the situation not to complain?

RUrankrewdrfe2 was fighting NLrankmalric, he couldn't reach Jasper... Would have had to go through RUrankizirayd or NLrankmalric.

Not sure how I could have played this differently. If I would have attacked Jasper, rewdrfe2 would have killed me (he attacked and won even with my army there). If I would have attacked rewdrfe2, that would have not solved Jasper's zenith.

Personally I try to attack/annoy better players, as I think is the only chance not to loose guaranteed. So, izirayd being "on the way" was the obvious choice for me...

I was the only one who was able to oppose USrankAdminJasper, but the three of you decided to do all the dirty work instead him

That's my problem. Didn't care which of you or Jasper would win (it wouldn't have been me if one of you won), so I just attacked the one that was easier to reach, while not going too far from rewdrfe2

NLrankmalric : It wasn't your actual play, it was you not screaming at RUrankrewdrfe2 that he needed to focus on USrankAdminJasper (as USrankAdminJasper has three spots and a ton of Paladins) and that you'd move your army out of the way so he could get to USrankAdminJasper.

Playing FFA to win requires lots of talking to each other and repeating particular messages.
