BUG!

for some reason, GymMember had the following problems:

right at start:
his factory plappoed, but did not build.
his com started other new building at 0% but did not advance.
his factory queued units but did not build them (stopped at 0%).

he left the game and i took his stuff.
at the factory, i was able to queue units, but no chqange in building. the waypoint of the factory had a strange "lift me up" symbol (sandclock).

the whole stuff was useless.

plz have a look, this is serious.

The fac was the whole time on wait - wtf press "W" to fix it!
1. W: wait, 2. W: reactivated

The com failed the whole time to build 1 mex, but after it helped the fac building the first glaive and build two other mexes it worked.

I don't know why it failed the first time and after the com killed the hover scout + used repair command on it, but after the other two mexes it worked - the com finally build the third mex.

After the fac finished the first glaive, it was still on wait (the com finished it).

If a fac is on wait, it won't produce, won't spend resources and you have to abort the wait state in order to cancel something or start anything new.

It is a feature of spring - not zk.

The wait thing is actually used in older mods to control production.

ZK replaced it with the priority system but you used to have to use wait to pause construction on things you didn't want sucking resources.

managing resources with wait commands was the way to go. Kinda muss that, though i still find myself doing it out of habit from time to time.

Wait is still useful if you don't want your factory sucking up your stockpile of resources, like if you have 6 metal income and you're trying to use a commander to build two mexes, or if you're trying to cloak a skuttle that you don't quite have enough energy for.

That's what build priorities are for. It does all of those things you just described.

Wait doesn't do any of those things. A factory, even at low priority, will use all resources available to it.

If you have positive E income but not enough to cloak a skuttle indefinitely, you can uncloak it for a while and then recloak and jump once you're ready to use it. If you have a low priority factory it'll slow down your stockpiling of energy and then drain it extra-quickly until you have 0 and the skuttle decloaks. Waiting factories don't do that.

If you're urgently trying to build an LLT or radar or something with a constructor and you have very bad economy, it may be fastest to reclaim some wrecks then switch back to building. A low-priority factory will suck up all the reclaim. Waiting factories don't do that.

Ah, I thought you meant that you had enough energy for Skuttle but it was being spent on construction. Got it.
