Another game where "everything is fine with Cyclops, Anarchid just feeds all the time".

Well, yeah, everything is fine with Cyclops. Totally agree. I just should build Cyclops instead of building stupid things which are not Cyclops and are feeding.

You went for a very defensive start, building porc while Grandor was building mexes. He kept expanding on this economically. Once goliaths came into play, he already had a 10k metal advantage in overdrive.

As for your counters, the first snipers were killing his commander and otherwise out of position to help you with the goliaths. Later on you suicided your glaives into an offensive when you had 3 goliaths without any escort on your side of the map. After that the economic/army difference was too big for anything to work.

I can't not build porc because my units cant fight tanks. Koda obliterates glaive, and knight reaver are too slow and obliterated by Emissary. I can't really raid except with Scythes for the same reason. So i figured i'd go for early corner capture and porc. Turns out that also doesnt work because without raid pressure the opponent can just overdrive even if i deny them territory. What should i do instead?

How are Glaives and Imps against Tanks?

how are reavers and ronins against tanks?

Good.

But not vs killagers or goliOPoths. They have a window of time in which they are very strong.

So i don't think that the overdrive graph really explains anything.

Here's the total value until first Cyclops .
I don't think i can spot a massive income difference here. What about total metal used?

This is not a 10k metal advantage. This is a 3k metal advantage. And most of it is offset by Knight/Reaver being passable against Kodachi:

Now watch what happens when Cyclops enters.

The total value growth surprisingly stays pretty even, but every fight i take against cyclops results in permanent, irrecoverable losses - because i take casualties but don't kill anything.

Over the whole course of the game, one Cyclops dies to an Ulti shot - and said Ulti blows up the next second, not because there's any flea screen but because Cyclops kill it.

ronin spam holds them back

25 ronins > 1 cyclops

Of course, i can always rely on the tank player not building killager. Ronin is a safe bet.

Ulti buff when?
Tank nerf when?

I've said it before and I'll say it again - If you think something is OP, use it yourself until other people agree with you or you will be shown/learn how to effectively counter it.

I've been switching to tank for emissaries for a while and i don't feel like i've been shown many counters. I guess i'll start switching for cyclops too, two birds with one stone.

Extremely late airswitch (bombers > eco), no thunderbird abuse, scorpion vs tanks instead of ultimatums, no ronins and dont forget the unconnected hydro :D

btw, imp is super good against kodas, especially when the mexes are clustered like on this map.Dont forget the mental warfare, everybody that lost 2 or 3 kodas to imps without doing damage will stop every raiding, forcing the tank player to switch to ogre pretty fast, which give you the opportunity to expand very fast while raiding everywhere. After that, a combination of ronin, snipers and glaives finishes off every tank army. (Dont forget, goli has slow reload, so even if it attacks and kills stuff, it can only kill cheap units and you can reclaim their wrecks normaly...

(Oh and here comes a pro advice, terraform is op against a turning goli ;))

Why didn't Anarchid connect up his energy grid in this one?

Pylons cost resources and (I've always assumed) energy is taken from isolated grids to allow optimum overdrive from the connected parts.
In short I assume he wasn't excessing?

GBrankfiendicus_prime: He had entire blocks of wind power that weren't connected to any mexes but would have been with just one more wind plant...
That's a lot of wasted energy.
