In this game, the CAI builds a heavy tank factory (its second), such that the produced tanks are trapped against a rock wall. Does the CAI not check for clearance, or did it not know which way the opening would be?

Also, the CAI never attempted to overdrive most of its mexes. It had plenty of power and mexes pretty close together, but not connected. (But, at least it did fine on spending metal after its commander died. It did waste significant metal in the middle of the game, though.)

CAI fucks up on maps that are not flat or feature a lot of water. It does not know what overdrive is.

When CAI was written, fusion reactors had an overdrive range equal to that of a pylon (and singularities had even more).

At some point, that was rebalanced - but CAI never knew.

CAI is very good at what it does and very bad at what it doesn't.

The biggest problem about CAI is that it dies to early raiding in (3 to 8)min as it builds an engineer first even on small maps and builds llt too late. Maybe you can't expect of an AI using radar and com to defend vs early raiders.

It would be fine if CAI was reworked or another AI added as it is an important part of the game. Of course it is irrelevant for competitive multiplayer, but I often use it for testing new things or getting into the game after not having played for a long time. And it's usefull practice for new players. It should attack a bit more thoughtfully instead of spamming random units and build fusion anywhere... CAI is not bad compared to other AIs, but significantly improving it may be not too difficult.

I also think that an easier AI should be provided as it may be demotivating for noobs to have no chance to win. (I know it's easy to only ask for things instead of actually programming them, but reducing CAI's ressorce income or usage by a factor should not be too difficult.)

Lower gamespeed = lower difficulty when fighting CAI.
