If the target of the Skuttle is not staying still, trying to jump on it can fail because of its unpredictable movement. I think that can happen even if the enemy unit is slow. On the other hand, I think forgoing the jump would lead to the Skuttle exploding prematurely.

Is the Skuttle jumping ability meant to sometimes involve significant player aiming to hit the enemy? Are players meant to immobilize the target unit prior to jumping?

If the Skuttle could home while jumping, that would remove the requirement to aim, but also enable long-range Skuttle bombardment due to Newtons again.

Maybe Skuttle attack should work like Puppy's. But still able to jump.

but where would be the fun in that?

also, fear the walking skuttle! (digging in the forum!)

should we automate any jumping unit to autojump away from danger or even puppycellerate away?

yes

no (but it helps and there are multiple tools in jumpyfac to achieve that)

When skuttels would have higher range, larger AOE or just be cheaper, they would probably become to strong.

Also Jumpbots already do have so many good units... Its easily one of the strongest factorys atm.

all the fun (and skill) is in the aiming !

I disagree with regard to the fun part and I'm not sure if I would like the skill to involve aiming. I believe it wouldn't be very difficult to write a widget for automatically aiming and jumping with the press of a button. It could jump on the unit that is the current target of the "Settarget" command.

I think that it would be good if Skuttles automatically jumped at their Attack target with speed extrapolation. This would provide basic smartness which is easy to override: disable the autojump by using move commands, and disable the extrapolation by targeting the ground under the target (hold ALT).

Skittle homing in jump period would be too OP thing. Skittles is for pros who know when jump in right time. Skittle effective use is artwork, masterpiece.
